Just added a new hard drive to my system and I now have enough room to capture College Football and MLB Baseball but I keep missing the end when the games don't follow the schedule. I have installed MRE and now I am getting a mre.log full of "[nativecode=2006 ** MySQL server has gone away]". The error follow a sql statement. Does anybody have this working? Mike McCullough |

I dunno what "MRE" is, but I just add 30 minutes of time automatically to my NFL scheduled games to handle the scheduling problem. |

I asked the author of MRE (Myth Recording Extender) for help in Oct 2007. His reply: Unfortunately, my myth system died on me quite some time ago and I haven't been able to replace it. I have no environment to test or otherwise continue development on MRE. My guess is that changes in the protocol is what's causing the errors you've listed below or you've specified incorrect values for the master server in the config file. It's been so long since I've looked at my code for this that I barely remember how it works. All I can suggest, since I have no env of my own to play with, is that you study the code to understand what it's doing then try to debug the error. I'd start with ensuring you've setup the server name properly in the config and if that's correct then you'll need to start studying the MythClient.php code and make any changes that might be necessary to accommodate modifications to the myth protocol. Sad to hear. -sTv |
