Got me scratching my head on this one.

R5.5 configured as an MBE/FE that holds all the recordings, two SBE/FE's that record when they need to. Lets call them SBE1 and SBE2. SBE2 gets shutdown this time of year due to lower number of simultaneous recordings.

Now here is what is odd, From the MBE/FE I can watch any recordings that are stored on the drives that have been placed there by any tuner in any box. As long as all machines are up and running I can watch any recording that is stored on the MBE from any Frontend SBE1/FE and SBE2/FE.

When I power down that one SBE2 then I am not able to watch any recordings that were captured by it that are stored on the MBE from the other FE(SBE1/FE). The recordings still work on the MBE/FE but not on that SBE1/FE.

I find also if I power SBE1/FE and turn back on SBE2/FE I am not able to watch any recordings that were captured on SBE2/FE yet they are available on the MBE/FE.

It is odd all files that exhibit this action report as unavailable when I select them.

Any thoughts on a way to fix this. I can work around it but it is a real annoyance and a glitch in the WAF.

tia.

just a thought but does it work if you have your front end always stream recordings from the backend?

Utilities -> Setup -> TV Settings -> Playback -> Page 1
Select "Always stream recordings from the backend"

That may have fixed it, I'll give it a run over night and report back tomorrow.

Thanks!

Updated That was the item that needed to be changed. Thank You.

The least I could do as a thanks for the great mythvideo-scanner script you have created.
