Hi all,

A bit of a mystery -

After a power outage last night, it seems that I cannot delete files using the Frontend. I select the file, choose to delete it, it vanishes from the Frontend for about 15 seconds and then magically lists itself once again. The file is also still present. I can delete the video files manually using term so there is a disconnect somewhere.

Any advice?

-Daniel

So -

Not sure how it happened but with the power outage, all the permissions on the video files were affected. Fixed those and everything works.

I have the same issue with just 2 of my recorded files.

I'm new(ish) to linux. How do I go about fixing the permission files so I can delete them?

From a terminal window type "man chmod" and read the instruction format. You will want to do something like 'chmod 755 filename'.

There are also a couple recent threads about fixing permissions. Searching for "chmod" should turn them up pretty quickly. For example:

Here are a couple other tips for power outages.

1) Check and repair databases - something like:

mysqlcheck -u root -p --auto-repair --check --optimize --all-databases

2) If you end up with a broken seektable on a recording, run mythcommflag on it:

mythcommflag --file <filepath> --rebuild
