Post subject: | Error Opening jump program file buffer with one tuner |
I have an HDHR I've been using for about 2 years. Yesterday I had to re-scan channels after my cable provider changed their lineup. While testing to be sure I had everything correct, I noticed that FOX HD would error out with the "Error Opening jump program file buffer" message. However, changing to the HDHR's second tuner allows me to watch the program with no trouble. Here's an excerpt from a failed attempt: mythbackend.log Code: 2011-12-18 15:01:12.311 TVRec(3): Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV 2011-12-18 15:01:12.314 TVRec(3): HW Tuner: 3->3 2011-12-18 15:01:12.321 LoadFromScheduler(): Error, called from backend. 2011-12-18 15:01:12.328 AutoExpire: CalcParams(): Max required Free Space: 3.0 GB w/freq: 14 min 2011-12-18 15:01:12.338 TVRec(3): Changing from WatchingLiveTV to None 2011-12-18 15:01:15.177 RingBuf(/myth/tv/1113_20111218150105.mpg) Error: OpenFile(): File too small (0B). 2011-12-18 15:01:15.183 MainServer, Warning: Unknown socket closing MythSocket(0x96a25b8) 2011-12-18 15:01:15.186 MythSocket(96a25b8:-1): writeStringList: Error, socket went unconnected. Also, the tuner that failed to display LiveTV seems to be recording the same program from the same channel without any problems. How do I troubleshoot this one? |

Before the lightening strike mostly killed it, my HDHR would occasionally get it's bits scrambled. Unplugging it for a few minutes and making sure it reset generally cleared it up. On one occasion I had to reload the firmware using the hdhomerun_config utility but after that it was fine. My assumption was always that it had suffered some kind of random memory corruption event or program glitch and just needed a fresh start. Oh, and make sure that you don't have one of those funky quick tune options enabled for live tv... |

I had to Google where those quick tune options were located because I've never changed them. Both tuners are set to never quick tune. Since the issue seems to be only with Live TV and only with 2 channels, I'm letting it go for now. We don't watch enough Live TV to spend a lot of time chasing this one down. If it starts affecting recordings I'll try resetting the HDHR like you mentioned. |
