Since neither one is working your icons are not setup correctly. In mythtv-setup make sure that the icon for each channel is only the icon file name (cbs.png), not the entire path (/home/mythtv/.mythtv/channels/cbs.png).

Yes I checked and I did have the icons set that way with only the icon name and not the path as well. I ended up deleting the icon names in the channel editor and having them blank. I then deleted all the icons in the channel directory. I rebooted the system. When I went into mythweb and Myth TV Web Frontend the icons were blank. I then copied over the icons to the channel directory and set them again in the channel editor. When I went back into Mythweb the icons were back to the old wrong ones but in the Myth TV Web Frontend they are correct.
Very strange.
