Hi guys, I had a lot of display issues with the R5 release, so I dropped down to R4V4.1 and installed it with automatic isntall. The install went perfectly, and everything "looks" kosher in MythTV. MythWeather works, MythNews, etc. The Program Guide for TV is working - I can browse channels. However, if I try to Watch Live TV the screen just goes black and hangs and usually the system locks up - sometimes I MythTV will come back in a few minutes... (I can always CTRL-ALT-F1 to drop Xserver. Anyhow - I imagine the problem is my PVR-250 not being set up properly, or MythTV having problems with it. I thought that the PVR-250's were reasonably easy to set up. I've been browsing this site, and the Wiki, for a few days... but haven't found anything that's helped me out with this. the pvr cards are relatively easy to setup, the problem is hauppage changes the tuners on them every other day. so you have to get the right tuner type and might even have to upgrade ivtv to support the tuner if it is a newer pvr card. how to do this has been discussed on the forum in depth and there is a howto on the wiki. |
