just checked the mailing list and found this at the top http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/m ... ers/137620 you can select the epg grab from the channel configuration page, must have missed it been so excited about finally getting it all to "kind of" work. also found this http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/m ... ers/126736 this is if you do the build your self and not the knoppix way, so im wondering 1/ is there a button ive missed (most likely) 2/ is the dvb grab bit acually built in? 3/ has some one cocked up with the latest build (doubt it) ill post back later so little time..... |

It looks from those messages that you need to enable it when you configure and build myth using somethiong like: Code: ./configure --dvb-path=/usr/include --enable-dvb --enable-dvb-eit I wonder if we could convince cesman to enable that option in the next KnoppMyth release.

In R5a22 this is the default behaviour. I think there is a tick box under each channels config saying use OTA listings or something similar. |

![]() ![]() So THAT'S what's screwing up my listings. I had this turned on, not knowing what it was. Didn't realize that OTA was REALLY OTA. I've been having trouble with one station showing up as "DTV Program", but only in the near term. Tonight looks ok, tomorrow, next week, look good. But as I approach anything, it gets wiped out by big blocks of DTV Program, and won't record anything. The local NBC station has been having trouble with their OTA guide data. Shows "DTV Program" all the time, for weeks now. This was a minor hassle with my LG STB. But now I've built a MythBox, and have been going nuts, trying to troubleshoot my Zap2It, editing channels, re-running the mythfilldatabase. And it keeps getting zapped by the OTA guide data. Doh! So, for people who come this way later: If you have Zap2It, but leave the "OTA Listings" option turned on, you'll overwrite your guide, but it'll only reach out a couple of hours. And if the guide data is bogus or incomplete, you'll effectively wipe out your listing right before record time. |

Did you use this diff making DVB-EIT to work with DVB-S and Astra in R5B7? --> http://www.mythwiki.de/index.php/DVB-EIT |

I know DVB-EIT in MythTV is experimental. But because we're an English speaking forum and the mostly used satellite in Germany and a big part of Europe is Astra, I will translate the important part of the above written page: Quote: Unfortunately the EIT code from mythtv isn't compatible with DVB-S in combination with Astra satellites. To get the EIT code working, there has to be a little modification to the source code. Therefor here a unified diff:
Perhaps this can help to get it working in the next release. Thanks Kai |
