So I have not gotten too in-depth on the Frontend portion of MythTV so far. I had it working but I need to reinstall the backend+OS so I have not played much.

One thing I am curious about, however, is how I choose to have my DVDs ripped to a backend storage space?

From the documentation I have read (MythTV official site, Red Hat Config site, GenToo site, plus others) seems to indicate you make these settings on the frontend. Well ... I guess I will have to set up a network drive?

If so, can I put the network drive's location on the Frontend?

And if so, is there a way to mount a network drive automatically at startup?

Essentially I am looking for the best way to store my DVDs on a backend server. How would one do this? Is this possible?

I would think it would be, but it would be nice to hear from someone who has done it before.

Thanks a ton! That was what I was looking for -- just some kind of system layout to get an idea of what can work and where to go.

It looks like I will have to learn how to use NFS.
