Not exactly sure what is happening, but here we go. I was watching live TV, it prompted for a recording starting I said to watch the recording and everything froze. Restarted and it could not connect to backend. I ssh into the machine and tried to start the backend and here is what I got:

Starting up as the master server.
2005-07-10 20:22:55 mythbackend version: 0.16.20040906-1 www.mythtv.org
2005-07-10 20:22:55 Enabled verbose msgs : important general
2005-07-10 20:22:57 Found changes in the todo list.
2005-07-10 20:22:58 Scheduled 116 items in 0.431136 seconds.
2005-07-10 20:22:58 Recording starts soon, AUTO-Startup assumed
2005-07-10 20:22:58 Started recording "Family Guy" on channel: 1009 on cardid: 1, sourceid 1
2005-07-10 20:22:58 ERROR opening file in ThreadedFileWriter.
/myth/tv/1009_20050710202300_20050710203000.nuv: Permission denied

When I logged in as root I was able to get the backend going and run just fine (though for some reason I only get a black screen for about 20 seconds then it kicks back out).

Basically everything has been working, then yesterday I installed a second hard drive using the LMV method (followed step by step with the walkthrough). Worked for a while I got backend error, restarted and everything was fine. Anyway, if anyone could give me a hand with this I would greatly appreciate it!!

Thanks,
Joe

Ok, I thnk I got it...operator error, kinda. When I created the LVM apparently I did something wrong because root was listed as the owner of the pretty, tv, and video directories, and the permissions were r-x for other, so I made mythtv the owner of those directories and it seems to be working.
