Post subject:  PVR-416 - Any experience?

I have a line on one of these and am just wondering if it will work with MythTV. I have been doing some searching but not getting a ton of info. It has the same chipset as the PVR-250 so I would think it should work, but I have been wrong before.

If anyone has any information, it is appreciated!

Thanks,
Joe

I would strongly suggest a check over on the ivtv mailing lists or forums.

I have an asus PVR-416 also. I have noticed that in R5A30.2, the card is being detected corectly and drivers for the card are showing up as cx8800, cx88-dvb, and cx88-blackbird.

This is the output when I run "# dmesg |grep cx88"
cx88[0]: subsystem: 1043:4823, board: ASUS PVR-416 [card=12,autodetected]
cx88[0]: subsystem: 1043:4823, board: ASUS PVR-416 [card=12,autodetected]
tuner (ivtv): chip found at addr 0xc0 i2c-bus cx88[0]
tuner: type set to 43 (Philips NTSC MK3 (FM1236MK3 or FM1236/F)) by cx88[0]
cx88[0]/0: found at 0000:00:0a.0, rev: 5, irq: 22, latency: 32, mmio: 0xe3000000
cx88[0]/0: registered device video1 [v4l2]
cx88[0]/0: registered device vbi1
cx88[0]/0: registered device radio0
cx88[0]/2: found at 0000:00:0a.2, rev: 5, irq: 22, latency: 32, mmio: 0xe4000000
cx88[0]/2: cx23416 based mpeg encoder (blackbird reference design)
cx88[0]/2: registered device video2 [mpeg]

This is good news for owners of bards with the blackbird chipset. now, If only I could find some instructions for getting the card set up in mythtv-setup...
