I have installed everything and have it running except the time offset for xmltv/datadirect. Everything in my guide shows up 4 hours later than what time it actually comes one. The system time is set, so in my head I just have to go to mythsetup and add a -400 (-4hr) time delay for xmltv setup. The only problem is that I can not run mythsetup. If I close the frontend, I get a blank desktop and that is it. There is no way for me to get to a shell to launch mythsetup. And if I type ctrl-alt-F1 to exit x and try just a normal shell, it just freezes my system.

How can I get to mythsetup in order to change the time offset for the mythfilldatabase program? I've racked my brain over this and can't get it to work....

Thank You,
Pepe

There is no mythsetup, there is however mythtv-setup. It can be ran from an xterm or via <alt><s>.

Happens often, try looking here for some ideas.

Mike

PS, I put mythtv-setup as a menu item. Never have to stop the frontend :)

Hi peperoberto,

Glad there was something of value for you :) Also try this google search for hints. One of the guy's (Liv2Cod) put this together and I think it is pretty slick.
