Greetings. I've got my system working pretty well, but had no transcoding set and have been eating up large amounts of disk. So I turned on automatic transcoding to take MPEG2 from pvr and smoosh it down to MPEG4. now, when I playback the transcoded shows, no sound... I've run a couple different transcoding set-up with different values for sound, including uncompressed, and no go. Running my tv-out through pvr350. works great with mpeg2. does the audio get seperated out during transcoding? and if so, how do I mix it back in for replay? is this the much discussed audio deal with pvr350 requiring the sound out from pvr to the input on sound card and then back out? (hope not as my sound card ain't workin' right now). or is a replay from mpeg4 using software decoding to the pvr and not sending the sound, again requiring sound card? EDIT -- Apparently it was the sound card issue. see here for details thanks Andrew |
