Post subject:  problem deleting some recorded programs

I had a problem with R5A26 (mythfilldatabase, mySQL, or DataDirect info) giving some bad info for recordings that were scheduled. The problem might have been the result of a power failure damaging my /myth partition.
The scheduling issue was resolved when I upgraded to A30.2, but the recordings, which all survived the backup and restore, still had bad info.
e.g. :
A one-hour program actually recorded for two hours, starting an hour before the target program. The 1004_19011213144600_20060121170000.nuv file was saved with the start date of 5:59 on Dec. 31, 1901! This is also also what is reported in MythTV. The end time and date of the .nuv file is correct.

Another file, 1068_19011213144600_20060107110000.nuv, is the correct length, and file size. I can see the program playing in the preview window, but it simply will not play in MythTV, and it will not delete from the recorded programs menu.

There are a couple of others, but I have not had any problems like this since the upgrade.

THE REAL ISSUE
How do I delete these programs from MythTV? I can delete the .nuv files, but the program listing is still present, and as long as it is there the episode will not be re-recorded.
How do I manually edit the list of recorded programs?

thanks in advance...

Maybe Manage Recordings-Previously Recorded .. and delete them from the list there? That should at least allow them to be re-recorded..

Have you tried deleting it using Mythweb? If you have removed the .nuv file using a command prompt (ssh to the box or from console) then you will have to recreate the exact file and then delete it using Mythweb. I have removed the .nuv files using rm command and I had to recreate the file using another unix command called 'touch'. This creates a blank file. Then you should be able to delete it using Mythweb.

If you don't use Mythweb, then this is all irrelevant!

Thanks for the mythweb solution. That did the trick!
I know this is an uncommon problem, but maybe it will help someone else some day.

THE REAL ISSUE...

The "real issue" is that you need a UPS (APC brand is very easy to set up so that is shutsdown your system gracefully upon battery exhaustion) on your box to prevent this from happening again!
