Hi, I have the latest knoppmyth and I am trying to go wireless with a Belkin usb stick that uses the zd1211b chip. I installed the latest version of the driver from zydas it comes up nicely. However, I cannot connect to my wireless router. The signal from the router is strong but it doesn't seem to be able to communicate with it. The only thing I can see that is not correct is the access point (ap) hardware address. Iwconfig shows 00:00:00:00:00:00. Trying to set the ap manually with iwconfig ethX ap 12:34:56:78:90 didn't work. The channel number, the essid and other things are correct. Not sure what to do from here. Any help appreciated. can you see your ap with Code: iwlist wlan0 scanning

Yes, I can see it and several others that belong to my neighbors. If I try "iwpriv ethX connect <Cell Number>", the system crashes. Daniel |

I would try upgrading the zd1211 driiver and wireless-tools http://zd1211.ath.cx/ apt-get install wireless-tools ======= iwconfig <iface> channel <ch> for the channel that it thinks your ap is on. I am using the zd1211 dirver in ad-hoc mode (no ap on my network) |
