Hi!

my nvidia chipset as posted previously is not recognized
http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3007

I wasn't really surprised that automatic sound configuration did not work. I read in the forums to avoid the nvidia nvsound driver and go for the snd-intel8x0 instead that is supposed to wirk out of the box.
modprobe soundcore
modprobe snd-intel8x0
gives me:
ed
Code:
/lib/modules/2.4.25-chw/alsa/snd-intel8x0.o: init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.25-chw/alsa/snd-intel8x0.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.25-chw/alsa/snd-intel8x0.o failed

I'm pretty stuck here not knowing what do try next since I don't know if the problem(s) result from the not recognized chipset or whether I need to go a different direction.

Can anyone point me the way?

Thanks!
Thomas
