it worked fine in slackware 10.1 and windows burning and reading dvd's and cd's
the chipset it's connected to is the via kt400

knoppmyth really isn't designed to work with scsi. Some devices may work with some tweaking, but not much effort has gone into scsi support.

seems like something that might want to be in the back as cd/dvd burners are becoming more prevailant and the 2.4.x kernel uses scsi emulation ... for the time being .. but ... i could be wrong with native burner support in the 2.6 tree

*waits impatiently for 2.6 to be built in* hehe
