Hello,

TechniSat SkyStar 1 CI R5A12 &10 (Can't open card)

I have got a TechniSat SkyStar 1 CI and in the post setup I tryed to config it to a DVB card on 0, 1, 2 and 3 but they all say can't open card.
At boot-time it seem's to see the card to 'I think' Knoppix has loaded the right driver but i'm not sure. :?
Could some one please help with some thing that I could may be try in the Shell

Thank you very much for your time, Edward.

close the frontend mythtv, enter the console and login as root.

than: /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend restart

now the card is available in the setup and you can scan for channels ( type: mythtv-setup).

If not: delete the card in mythtvsetup (NOT THE CHANNELS) and restart,
go again in setup choose the card, go to point 3 link the card to the device.
Now you can search for channels.

This worked for my Technisat Airstar 2 (DVB-T).

Stop the backend then run mythtv-setup. After you're done w/ setup start the backend.

Hi, thanks. But still no luke.
When I try to stop the backend it say's that there is no backend running so none to kill. I think the backend is not starting.

Should I try to:
Remove

Code:
options tuner type=2

from /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv and reboot, would this help?
Also what would the name of the video soruce be which I need to link to, type in at opsion 3 in the setup?
Thanks for your time, Edward.

No, that wouldn't help as your tuner isn't an "ivtv" tuner. Perhaps your need the firmware?
