I had a working setup or so I thought. I have been building and testing it for a while today I installed it.

2 x pwr250's
7nif2 board

one of my cards seemed to have dissapeared
dmesg | grep ivtv
showed both cards one type50 one type 39
no errors
i ran modprobe ivtv and voila I have 2 tuners

should I add this command to my bootmisc.sh file or is this a symptom of another problem?

as long as ivtv is in your /etc/modules file then you should not need to add it, and this is an indication of some other problem.
