I've been trying for a few hours now to get my PVR-250 980 working. I'm using R5A16 and I have no luck. I've been searching the forums and all the posts I'm getting come from 2004. I've tried editing my /etc/mythtv/modules/ivtv file, but to no avail. Should I switch to an earlier alpha of R5, or should I fall back to R4? I don't want to waste my time waiting for different KnoppMyth installs, what with the channel listings updating and all.

I've noticed a lack of trouble from people with PVR-250 cards, lately, as the only new problems are from the remote, not from the card. People aren't asking about getting the card working; just the remote.

My card comes up as:

0000:00:0a.0 Multimedia video controller: Internext Compression Inc iTVC16 (CX23416) MPEG-2 Encoder (rev 01)

Any ideas?

I've heard the 980's are quite problematic. you can search the forum for 980 there was a post just recently about it. I think they require newer not older ivtv drivers.

Thanks, I've found that R5A12 looks like a good candidate to try because of this thread because it's the same capture card and video card that I have, and similar enough specs.
