I ran the script from this post:

http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... hlight=pvr

I have a Sony KV32-S40 32" TV. The script uses a resolutiuon of 720x480 from the pvr-350 sample config. This resolution is larger than my TV screen so I endup loosing the edge of the menus. They display, just parts are off the screen.

I've tried any number of XF86Config files posted on these forums and elsewhere on the internet. Nothing works accept this resolution. At this point, I'm not sure how to proceed. I'm hoping someone has a similar TV and could post their XF86Config.

Perhaps this is something that can be adjusted using xvidtune or some other util?

Is the mythtv menu too big, or just the tv video?

It seems to be both. The menus are very obvious since on the first screen, the "Home" title in the top left corner is partially off the screen. With video playing, its hard to tell. I don't have tv hooked up yet because I have a DISH Network pvr and pvr to pvr didn't make sense. I still need to hook up a non-pvr DISH receiver to get tv working. Playing a widescreen DVD showed a much smaller black bar top and bottom so I think that is off the screen a little.

I just need a workable 4:3 resolution for X, and I don't know why the many different XF86Config's I've found for TV out with 4:3 resolutions don't work.

I've hooked up my windows xp laptop to this same tv and displayed a 1024x768 desktop at 60Hz. I've tried 1024x768, 800x600, and 640x480 all at 60hz but something else with the modelines is causing the server to not find any valid screens.

In mythtv, my resolution is ok and when I exit mythtv, the screen is on the left and oversized like this photo :

Anyone know how to change the resolution outside of mythtv ?
I use a pvr350 with tv-out on 36" and R5A15.1
