Ryan:

Thanks for that info. I actually get a very similar display output when I
plug in my BTC keyboard. The keyboard was stable, but having it plugged
in would prevent getting an IP address. I am almost certain it relates to
this motherboard.

After countless hours of troubleshooting, and countless posts to fora
across the planet, I finally gave up, and gave in. I bought the older
equivalent of that BTC keyboard. It is an an IR and PS/2 model. Same
design, same handles, but mouse puck instead of joystick wand. It works
beautifully without any configuration. Now, the specialty keys don't work
yet, but I don't care about that much. The basic keys and the mouse puck
and mouse buttons work great without any configuration whatsoever. And
best of all, I can get an IP address.

I tried plugging in my Gyration cordless 3D mouse into the USB port, and
that blocked getting an IP address too, so I'm leaning towards some sort
of resource conflict. While I'm thrilled that the new IR keyboard works
great, I will still need to be able to use the USB ports for other things, so I
have more work to do to figure out why the heck this is happening. One
step at a time, I guess.

Thanks for your input everybody!

Shplad
