I shut down my htpc to do a little prep for the face plate im building and now it wont boot. It give a lot of error about the hard drive then ends in a kernel panic. If i boot the install cd and exit to console i can only mount hda3 and hda4. hda1 errors with an input/output error and when I try to fsck it, it says it cant find a ext2 superblock. Any suggestions?

You're not trying to fsck it while mounted are you? Did you use fsck.ext3 /dev/hda1?

Do a man on the fsck command and read up on how to use the option (-b ?) to select one of the alternate super blocks. You may just be hosed however and need to recreate the FS on that partition...
Code:
man fsck.ext2

Well if you had a recent database backup (from mythbackup) an auto upgrade should do the trick, but otherwise... :|

Have you tried booting from the CD in rescue mode and running the fsck from there?

BTW - Since /dev/hda3 is normally /cache the only thing that should be there is live TV buffers which should be recreated with losing anything. All you really need to preserve is /dev/hda3 aka /myth and suto upgrade does that.
