I have a Toshiba Cinema Series CN32V71. I'm trying to generate a good XFree config for this TV. However, the manual has absolutely no reference to what the horizontal and vertical frequencies are, what the dot clock is or what the native pixel size is. If anyone has one of these tubes or can point me to an online reference, I would greatly appreciate it. My Googleing hasn't returned any good hits. Thanks.

well that's a tv, they almost never have those kind of specs available, and you almost always have to use a 60hz vert refresh 30-50 usually works fine for horizontal. and other than that, you should be able to try any of the popular modelines.

Hmm...so, you're saying that most TV's have those refreshes as their max? Not knowing enough about this, I figured I'd ask. I guess I'm going to have to try my hand at the flicker settings (along with the overscan setting) using the nvidia-settings tool. That tool is a bear to work with when not being able to watch live TV. I've tried a couple of the Wiki tips but something just isn't working. I suppose I can ask if someone has an nvidia conf file that works with that class of TV. As always, thanks for the reply Xsecrets.

well there are a couple of unanswered questions. what type of connection do you have to the tv? If it's svid then you definitely have to go 60hz as that's the NTSC spec which is what svid input will be expecting, and all your overscan settings etc should work. IF you are using component input then in my experience you still use 60hz, but the overscan settings won't help you.

Yeah I suppose those details might help, eh? Anyway, I am using the SVIDEO out from my FX5200. I am now confident that my config file is probably as close as it can get. At this point, it's all in what I do with the nividia-settings tool. Thanks again for the reply. You are a wealth of information.
