Hey All --

I recently setup a new R5A22 systems (got in before the version was pulled.... it's running perfectly and the DVB changes were worth it).

A couple of questions about remotes:

1) If i want to change my remote, how to I kick knoppmyth to re-detect the new remote or will it do it automatically?

2) Any remote recommendations? I'd really like something that will work right out of the box. Is there a list of the current supported and autodetected remotes? I found one thread on autodetecting remotes, but it's quite old.

Currently I have a dvicoFUSION DVB-T card + remote. The remote was autodetected and works fine. I'm just not very happy with the range it gets and lircd has annoying problems with it (and some people find it very confusing --there are no dedicated channel -+ or volume +- buttons... they are part of the joystick).

For replacement, the Microsoft WINXP Media Center remote is looking like a good one, or possibly one of the ATI REMOTE WONDER RF ones....

(a wireless keyboard the size of a blackberry would be really cool but i don't think anybody makes such a thing.)

any opinions appreciated!

Cheers! J

lirc-reconfigure.sh or something like that, tab completion should find it easily enough for you.

Except that it on R22 it doesn't seem to work for the MCE remotes...

You have to manually copy the correct .lircrc and the lirc.conf files overwriting the existing files which appear to be for the PVR350.
