I have a mythtv setup that consists of a backend and a frontend.
I only have one tuner card (pvr-250). The backend is a more powerful box which can handle maxed out live-tv capture settings. The frontend can't handle setting that high plus its hooked up via WLAN. Is there a way to apply different settings that the frontend would use when when watching live tv. I played around creating a new profile group but i believe that only has to do with backends from the research i have done and experimentation. Has anyone else ran into this problem or knows of a solution?

I believe it can be done because of this post

Thanks

Yes, you can have different profiles for different frontends.

I wondering this too....

I have the exact same problem...

If I change resolution or bitrate on one frontend, the other frontend also get that change.....

I want to have a lighter profile for Live-TV on my slow laptop with WLAN

Do your different frontend have a unique id? If so, you should be able to go into the settings and adjust profiles... While I know the option is there, I have not used it.
