Well I hate to be a bother though I've now got all my previous issues out of the way but I'm running into a problem with audio.

I've got a Sound Blaster PCI 128 which is detected by alsa and probed etc, sound works in X say TuxRacer but not in mythtv. It also should be noted I'm using an old BT848 card(card=9 tuner=6) which if I understand correctly does not decode audio to the board just outputs it. So I've got a cable running between the BT card and the sound card into the line in. If I enable a background channel in alsamixer I can hear the audio but it's live rather than being recorded and played back. So I've tried just about everything that I can come across on the net to get this figured out and I'm still coming up dry. I thought it might have been related to the option in mythtv-setup in the v4l section of tuners but I've changed that from dsp through dsp3 without any luck. Any commands I can pass to give me a list of dsp(are they ports? Or just the main device like SB128=dsp somethingelse=dsp0) and what they are hooked to or perhaps even a config file to edit to change them or anything;)

Again I appreciate any light you can shed on the topic.

Well I figured it out, it seems as soon as I'm at my breaking point I come accross the information I need.

Just for anyone else searching for this problem READ THE MYTHTV SETUP.

When running ALSA hardware set the audio device to ALSA:default rather than dsp anything and also run "alsamixer -V all" and goto line in hit "m" and make sure your getting audio and when you do hit "space" to make sure it's selected as the capture line. Then enjoy mythtv with audio through the card and on your recording's.
