Hey guys, im VERY new to KnoppMyth and semi new to linux. Afer LOTS of searching, Ive managed to get my PVR500 (both tuners) Running on an old PII 450 with 512mb of ram using RA526 (I think). It was no walk in the park, anyway, everthing is working but when I change the channel, the sound is pretty choppy for the first 10 seconds or so. Im using the motherboards onboard audio output, is this OK? Can I/Should I use the sound output from the PVR500? If so, how?

Thanks!

There is no sound output from the PVR-500. There is a sound INPUT for recording with a S-Video/Composite video input, but that's a different beast. Are you thinking of a PVR-350? For a possible improvement, try using "extra audio buffering" under the utilities/setup->setup->tv section. I forget where it is, either general or playback seems likely.

That solves that problem. I have tried the extra audio buffering, it doesnt not seem to have any effect.

I found a way to fix it... Build a faster machine. I was so impressed with what I saw of MythTV that im going to build a faster dedicated mythbox, so hopefully this wont be an issue with the new one.

Thanks for your feedback tjc!
