Hello,

I did a clean install of KnoppMyth R5C7.

I have a IR receiver on COM1 and a Technisat TS35 remote. (this worked fine in R5A30).

So far I did no succeed in doing anything with my remote on MythTV or on console.

I tried:
Quote:
root@mythtv:/dev# /etc/init.d/lirc restart
Stopping lirc daemon: lircmd lircd.
Starting lirc daemon: lircd.

to make sure, lirc is runnig and then irw should echo some figures but it comes back just with a prompt imediately :-(
Quote:
root@mythtv:~# irw
root@mythtv:~#

or sometimes with an error message:
Quote:
root@mythtv:~# irw
connect: Connection refused
root@mythtv:~#

I have also tried as non-root-user but no difference.

Version of lirc:
0.7.1pre2-6
and nothing newer available via synaptic.

So I get stuck at the first step with lirc...
Is there anybody out there to point me in the right direction?

very thankful
Stranger

Late answer...
Make sure the lircd.conf and hardware.conf are correct. Took me a while to realize I had to rename the hardware.conf.orig to hardware.conf...
regards,
jens
