hello,

i had a nforce2 chipset board for my mythtv pc. cause tehre where some problems with this chipset and i couldn't fix them or want to try out long nights i draw the conclusion to change the motherboard with my older one.
now it has a via-onboard-soundcard and... i didn't hear any sound. with alsamixer i could tune all channels up and when turn up the volume for the channel called "sourround" i can hear some sound.
but the sound didn't match to the tv screen i see, cause the tv on screen is timeshifted (cause it has to be encoded in realtime). i think it's the sound, which directly comes from tv tuner.

i didn't want to change the board again (now Knoppmyth should support the nforce2 chipset as far as i know *g*). maybe someone could help me ?!

thanks,
the-FoX

the nforce boards had an apic problem. This is corrected in R4v3. I would suggest going back to that, because even if you get past the sound problem, which is rather minor (sounds like you have the wrong capture input) then you will most likely run into the dma problem which is not correctable at all.
