It turns out I have an outdated motherboard. When I started the computer, nothing at al came up on teh screen.

I talked to the people at Gateway, and they told me, "You will need a universal agp videocard that is compatible with 2x,4x,8x"

says nothing about being universial, but is 2X/4X, and has the Geforce MX4000 chipset. Do you think it will work?

Also, how bad is the "dark red picture" mentioned on the Wiki:

Don't know about the red thing, but yes that card will work. I've got a 4x/8x nvidia card in my 2x/4x slot.

I wish the same was true for me. My problem is that I bought and paid for a 4x/8s card, and it won't work in my 2x slot.

I am wondering if the other card will work, despite the fact that it does not say "universial." I think it will, but since I am buying it online, I have to pay a lot of shipping to do a return.
