Hello!

I've purchased a new PVR150 and it comes with the new remote and it also comes with a transmit/sender IRblaster.

Unforunately - I haven't had any success getting it to work. I've done extensive searching for the last two days, but none of the solutions seem to work. I cannot get IRW to even connect to a device to see if it is recieving commands from the port.

Any ideas?

thanks in advance.

I think you need to set the remote type to #27 b as this remote functions the same as the MS MCE remote. In any case, do not use the Hauppauge remote for this setup.

Ok I got it to work. It took a couple of hours and I'm not finished configuring it.

Two things to make sure of when setting up the newest PVR-150 with the new remote(four color buttons at the bottom) and the

- Pick (f) when KnoppMyth asks which remote you use. Silver with Trasmitter (dogbone) and the built in IRblaster

- Made sure there are no IRQ conflicts

- Debug things by checking that LIRCD is running and if IRW isnt working,.. cat /dev/lirc (or /dev/lirc1 or /dev/lirc0 or /dev/lirc/0 depending on your device)

If you see garbage coming up when you press buttons on the remote, then you are almost home because linux is recognizing the device.

There will be additional setup as per the warning in KnoppMyth for getting the remote to work fully.
