I will buy the computer for watching movies and listening music only (already have HDTV by ADSL2+ and my modem have time shifting and other useless things for me).

Computer specs :

- 2 x 300Gb Maxtor

A friend of mine told me to use WMC (windows media center) as I really need remote control for browsing media, but I would like to use linux based system because i just don't like windows stuff, lot of bugs and preblems.

So can you please help me choose WMC or KNOPPMYTH knowing that :

1 - I will only use it for watching movies (divx, xvid...), listening music (ogg, mp3...) and viewing photos (jpg) (NO TV Tuner)

2 - I need to browse hard disks, and DVD drive with remote controle so i can chose what media I want to watch (and putting several media in playlists if possible)

3 - I need to control content with remote control, at least : play, stop, pause.

4 - remote control from my Thermaltake Xaser Mozart will work ? If not can you tell me which remote controle will work for sure so I can buy it before getting in trouble.

5 - The sound need to be output in digital optic 5.1, because i send it to my Amplification unit (Yamaha)
