I have a Japan market Sony satellite box. Searching high and low I cannot find the .conf file for my remote (Sony RM-J318D).

I purchased an IR receiver from http://www.irblaster.info/receiver.html to record the info from my existing remote.

My question is how do I use the receiver to record and generate the .conf file? irrecord is a valid command but I am not sure how to use it.

Any help out there? I will be sure to add my codes to the collective knowledge to help out other mythtv users in Japan
