Hi,

I have decided to use Terratec Cinergy 1200 DVB-C in my MythBox (couldn't find any other "Tier 1" dvb-c card from these forums. Is there any?) Anyway Cinergy 1200 comes without remote control. So what remote control should I buy?

Is support for the Streamzap already compiled into LIRC as it ships in Knoppmyth? Or do you have to tweak it to get it working?

Basically ... would you call it a "Tier 1" piece of hardware, or "Tier 2/3"?

I have a PVR-150 that I got without a remote (I got just the card, by itself), so I'm now in the market for a good remote as well. The Streamzap looks like exactly the right thing, but I'm a bit gun-shy because I've heard that LIRC can be an absolute cast-iron bitch to work with, if your remote isn't one that's good to go 'out of the box.'

Yes, KM knows about Streamzap, right out of the box. It's the Dragon remote, so it's well supported and lots of people have them. It's also very cheap, and comes with its own USB receiver.
If you trade up to a nice Harmony 880, it already knows how to mimic the 880.
But anyway, you're not just looking for a remote - you need a remote that comes with an IR receiver, unless you've already got one built into the case or the tuner card, but you wouldn't be asking this question if you had one of those.
