What graphiccard should I buy?
I need a new graphiccard for my myth project and wounder what card would do the job?
Should I go for Nvidia or Radeon?
Would a geforce 4 mx4000 do the job it's about $60-70
Or what cheap card is working with myth?

Of the two cards you mentioned... Avoid the Radeon and what do you have left?

I found this one for 550SEK ($70) Gainward GeForce FX5200 64MB
looks to me to be a great card with no fan.
Will this do in knoppmyth out of the box?

I have a Dell 1,5 ghz and a Technotrend budget DVB-T card. I know that at the moment this card might not work.

Am I on the right track here? ;-)

The most popular one used is the Geforce MX440

Remember that compared to 3D gaming and FPS, driving a TV or other video output is just not all that demanding. Lower resolutions (640x480 or 800x600), lower frame rates (~30 FPS), 2D, ... The MX440 is plenty and since thats essentially what is built into the NForce2 chipset it's very, very common. If it's not built into you MoBo already, choose the cheapest GeForce4 based card with TV out you can find from a reliable maker. The fact that the older lower spec cards will run cooler (and don't need a fan so quieter as well) is a very nice bonus.

I really enjoy this card I bought from NewEgg for $59:

Albatron nVIDIA GeForce FX5200 Video Card, 128MB DDR, 64-bit, DVI/TV-Out, 8X AGP, Model "FX5200EP"

It uses the nVIDIA reference design for the board, so is very high quality. It uses a large heat-sync instead of a fan, so is totally silent. I really like the build quality, and it's quite snappy for video.
