Hi klarten,

The change I made was to the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file. During the first reboot I noticed that it saw the nvidia card and compiled the driver however it chose not to use that driver. It decided that the mobo video chips was the thing to use.

# The following line is auto-generated by KNOPPIX mkxf86config
Driver "nvidia"
VendorName "All"
BoardName "All"
# BusID "PCI:0:15:0"

Your mileage may vary but at least it is somewhere else to look.
Mike

Yeah, he needs a BusID line in the Card0 Device section his XF86Config-4. There's probably even already one there, and it just needs to be uncommented. It should look more or less like this:
Code:
BusID       "PCI:1:0:0"

Those numbers should be right based on the message, but I always have to double check the mapping from the form that lspci and the like show, and what X expects.
