I tried this last night and I was able to setup my HD 3000 and scan for channels. But when I went to record a show my MythWeb showed a filesize of 'B'. Something still isn't working correctly, I will have to check the logs tonight and see if I can figure anything out.

Wow! I just tried these modprobes too and now the hd3000 shows up in mythtv-setup. (my modules are actually cx88_* insetad of cx88-*.) I'm surprised because before hand lsmod didn't show cx88_atsc and did show cx88_dvb so I thought the modules were already loaded correctly. But this seems to have straightened something out and mythtv-setup picks up the card now. Sweet!

I haven't tried anything else yet. I probably won't have time to play with it until next week but this is a good start.

Thanks!

I have had similar problems and have created a knoppmythwiki page to document. http://knoppmythwiki.org/index.php?page ... 3000_HOWTO

Try this it worked for me.

root@mythtv:/etc# modprobe -r cx88-atsc
root@mythtv:/etc# modprobe -r cx88-dvb
root@mythtv:/etc# modprobe cx88-dvb

It should then allow you to set it up.

I have not been able to get it to work on boot yet.

gbutters,
Hey, great post. You helped me out!

Do you know why this works? Did you come up with the idea yourself?

What was broken in the first place that removing cx88-atsc and reinstalling cx88-dvb makes it work?

Check out my knoppmythwiki to fix the start on boot issues!.

Thanks!

Thought I would post a quick update since I started this thread. My hd3000 card works now after upgrading from R5A16 to R5A30. At first I thought it still didn't work, but I finally figured out I had to switch my PVR-250 card to /dev/video1 in mythtv-setup. When /dev/video0 wasn't working I first moved ivtv up in /etc/modules but this broke the hd3000 card. When I figured out I needed to use /dev/video1 and leave /etc/modules alone then the hd3000 worked. joy! Now I just have to get a better antenna.
