gr8nash,

Thanks for the update! I will try it on my machine this evening and will report back on the results.

Regards,

gr8nash,

Bad news - I wouldn't reccomend this hack. The deb you posted requires you to replace libpam0g with a newer revision as well which is very bad. A lot of things depend on libpam. If you try to do this dpkg stards freaking out about libc6 being the wrong version among other packages - this is too scary of a procedure for me to try at this point.

Perhaps someone with a new installation would give this a shot but I have too much to lose at this point :)

Thank you for trying to help!

All -

Just an FYI - my problem was not caused by the dependancy issues with libpam0g-dev - it was actually that I did not issue this command:

Code:
ln -s /usr/src/xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/os-support/linux/drm/kernel_source/drm.h

from the how-to before compiling the drivers (gr8nash must have snuck it in there ;)).

Once I created this symlink everything compiled beautifully without error. The rest of the process went smoothly.

I reccomend trying the rest of the how-to first before messing with the libpam package unless problems force you to mess with it.

Thanks to everyone for all of your help!!

-K

David,

Have you gotten a chance to glance at the patches you've made to get this procedure to work? Myself and one other gentlemen are interested in it.

Thanks!
Ken
