Post subject: | Successful on 2 tuners...3rd a problem |
I have a PVR-350 & 500 installed in my backend, lastest version software... I can record 2 programs, but can't watch a 3rd. I setup the 350 using composite 0, the 500 using composite 1 on both tuners [cable/no box system]; is that where my problem is coming in, that I set the 500 for the same composite input ? I can go into status and see 3 tuners, and right now 1 & 2 are recording, 3 is doing nothing. So I assume my TV out for live TV is looking for tuner 1 ? [When I try to watch live TV, it just 'jumps' back to the main screen. Slow going here, everything seems to work fine but the 3rd tuner. Any help appreciated. Thanks. |

You need to setup the 350 with composite 0, the 500 with composite 0 & 1 |

I'll give that a try; the only problem I have now is understanding how to get mythtv-setup to run; I get a message stating I can connect to the X server, regardless of what identitiy I'm logged in as. |

Could you explain your setup better? Which input are you using on your cards the tuner input or the composite input? You can't select both tuner and composite which is what you are saying, as far as I can tell. I think you should select /dev/video0 -> tuner0 & /dev/video1 -> tuner0 (this assums that your pvr-500 is detected as video0 & 1. Make sure you assign the same channel lineup to every tuner on every pvr card. Otherwise myth wont use any tuners that are not assigned the same channels. |

The 350 & 500 have a split cable w/no box connected to the tuners of both cards. if I understand correctly, the single input on the 500 goes to both tuners on the card. Video out is from the 350's A/V output. Yeh, I think I confuse myself with inputs, tuners, etc..... 'Going to take a look at the configuration files and see if it can't be fixed there; as stated, when I exit mythtv and go to xterm and try to run mythtv-setup, I get the message about not being able to connect to the X server. |
