I have a working system with 160 GB and 200 GB IDE drives in a volume group that I use to store music, videos (not TV) and pictures. I am out of space and IDE controllers. My system has two on-board SATA controllers... Can one mix IDE and SATA drives in the same volume group? |

I'm pretty sure it can, you just need to make sure the sata driver in loaded before the lvm driver. I helped someone with the exact same question a couple months back. Search for a posting by me, with all the keywords "sata", "lvm", and maybe "module".
