I have done all this work to keep from buying a new 80 dollar tv card that will work flawlessly. everything else is working fine so far, ( I am a noob to linux) I saw that someone had a win-tv-go card which seemed to be a lot like mine and even had the same chipset, ( conexant or something close to it) , the response to his post was to upgrade his kernel and use v4l to have the right drivers. I found out how to download, configure, and install the kernel and I added in the v4l support as one of the options.
Now when I boot my system it still calls it "unknown device" I tried to change the tuner= setting but when I get to that screen I can only choose composite 1-4 . and when i go to "watch TV" I get a black screen. and I also cannot find a way to exit that black screen other than ctrl alt f1. Please help me out
I wanna get this figured out by the end of my long weekened.
