Post subject:  R5C7 PC-DL Deluxe, ATI HDTV Problem nVidia FX5500 [RESOLVED]

I have used the auto install option to set up the server.

The initial install would not take the HDTV Wonder card, with the NVIDIA FX5500.

So I removed the card, everything came up ok. Now I am able to log into the box and look at dmesg

Here is the output from dmesg:

Now to me it looks like the NVIDIA card is the cultrate and that the ATI card is coming up fine and even initializing.

I can not seem to understand what is happening here, I have been banging my head for a week uninstalling installing updating. Has anyone had success with the install of HDTV and a NVIDIA FX5500?

Since this is a "Workstation" mother board, I have complete access to the PCI/IRQ settings, and have taken that off of auto and set them manually.

Sorry for the scattered notes, I am just going out of my mind and would appreciate any guidance, even if you think it may be redundant.

After more searching, I think part of the problem might be the speed of the AGP port since it is referenced that the BIOS may have "misconfigured" the port.

Just an FYI UPDATE YOUR BIOS if you encounter Bios errors, I know this sounds like a no brainer, but when you're in the thick of it and you know your machine has run fine before, it may slip your mind so:

BIOS errors = Update your BIOS

That being said, where do I get the latest ATI Firmware updates? I see people speaking of them on the board, but no reference to where these are located. Since this is so new, googling is rather confusing and misleading. Plus a post on the board may help others trying to get an ATI HDTV wonder up and running.

I have had weird moments where things just start working, I am not complaining, but who knows, the sound works when I am working on the video portions and video starts working when I am working on the sound. Makes this so much more fun and interesting! :-)

Oh since no one has replied this is like my personal blog and in a couple years I can go back and laugh at myself, much like you have been if you have followed this thread.
