I have a small problem with the MPEG-2 files created by my PVR-350 since I upgraded to R5C7. When I play them with VLC on a Mac, after about 20 seconds, the audio and video starts to get jumpy. I was able to create a test file that played fine by disabling VBI embed:
Code:
ivtvctl -x 0
cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg

VBI embed for IVTV cards used to be turned off by default but I guess this changed with MythTV 0.19. I know this is probably a bug with VLC but since I really don't care about closed captioning, I'd like to just disable VBI embed in MythTV. The problem is that every time MythTV starts recording with the PVR-350, it turns VBI embed back on. And if I try to turn it off after it's recording, it fails saying the device or resource is busy.

Does anyone know how to disable VBI embed for PVR-350/250 cards in MythTV 0.19?

I set the VBI format to "none" and it was still embedding VBI in the MPEG stream so I manually disabled it with
Code:
ivtvctl -x 0

and it seems to stay off now.

Thanks!
