Or has anybody else seen ivtv 0.4.6 flaking out? I've had video capture problems while experimenting with all of the ivtv 0.4.6 prelease versions and now with the 0.4.6 release. The most obvious factors seem to be:

- PVR-150, the PVR-250 isn't as badly affected, although it is affected.
- Certain channels, especially channel 66 which is Food Network on my cable system. Most of the channels in the 60's are affected.
- The picture breaks up and pixelates but in a very specific way, with stripes of scrambled picture between stripes that are more or less OK.

While it's not as bad as 0.4.5 which would lock up when you tried to tune any channel after the first one, it really doesn't seem ready for prime time. As a point of reference 0.4.4 works just fine on these cards and channels.

This thread - http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10677
and this ivtv trac ticket - http://ivtvdriver.org/trac/ticket/49
seem related. Interesting that I've only seen it with 0.4.6 and beyond...

I definitely have this problem with a PVR-500, with the stock ivtv versions from R5B7 and R5C7. In my case there is definitely a dependance on how long the system has been running and/or how much recording it has been doing. I've finally resorted to a cron job that finds an appropriate time to reboot in the wee hours each morning. :(

I haven't tried to upgrade ivtv, because from the resarch I did it seemed like it wasn't fixed...

The MPEG artifact issues aren't specific to 0.4.6, i've had them for ages. Currently still running 0.4.4 on my system.

Take a look at http://mysettopbox.tv/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=63068 for similar problems.

Been tracking this on the IVTV mailing list for ages. Bounce over to the other thread for more details.
