Post subject:  Difficulty Getting PVR-350 Going

Let me start by saying that I'm a complete nub to Myth, but I did search the forums, the Wiki and the install procedure and haven't found an answer. I’m sorry if the answer is obvious, I did look…

I’m installing KnoppMyth R5C7 on a new Dell with a PVR-350 using the auto install.

When I select “Watch TV” from the menu the screen turns black for about 10 seconds then returns to the Myth menu. During that time I get no picture or sound (no sound from either the tuner card or the PC).

I don’t have a TV set up. I’m strictly working with the monitor at this point. I’ve run the R5Beta7-pvr350.pl script and believe that it installed the ivtv drivers correctly. Here are the results of a “ps aux | grep ivtv”:

root@mythtv:~/pvr350util# ps aux | grep ivtv
root 2765 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? S< 02:24 0:00 [ivtv_vbi/0]
root 2766 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? S< 02:24 0:00 [ivtv_fw/0]
root 2889 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? S< 02:24 0:00 [ivtv-enc]
root 2890 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? S< 02:24 0:00 [ivtv-enc-vbi]
root 2908 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? S< 02:24 0:00 [ivtv-dec]
root 2909 0.0 0.0 0 0 ? S< 02:24 0:00 [ivtv-dec-vbi]
root 5222 0.0 0.1 1648 540 ttyp1 S+ 02:41 0:00 grep ivtv
root@mythtv:~/pvr350util#

In myth-setup:
I’ve defined my capture card as a PVR-x50 going to video0 with my input as Tuner 0.
I’ve defined my Input Connections by tying my cable (defined in Video Sources) to Tuner 0.

I believe that my problem lies outside of Myth since a “cat /dev/video0 > temp.mpg” results in an empty file.

Is there something that I’ve missed or a good way to track down the problem?

Thanks,
Keith

(Sorry about the length of the post)

There is no need to run that script. The run check the wiki on troubleshooting or checking the logs?
