Hi gang, I have an HP MCE remote that came with Hewlett Packard's Media Center PC; the IR receiver connects to the computer via USB. Is this supported, and if so, are there any tricks over & above configuring a serial device? Is there a compatible lircd.conf from a different mfr. that works? Currently, the device doesn't work at all.

LIRC appears to load & run w/out error, but when I try the irw command, I get a "Connection Refused" error. Any help much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Christopher

I'm in the same boat. Has anyone figured this out?

"Seek and ye shall find", or in this case search and you'll find lots of information about MCE or USB remotes. There's a wiki page, numerous postings, ... and I already responded to someone tonight on this very topic. Yes, it's supported as part of the standard setup scripts. If it's plugged in the lirc-reconfig.sh script should detect it and let you set it up.
