Post subject:  irblaster.info - Blaster + DCT2524 - Can't change channels

Hello:

I bought an IR blaster from IRBlaster.info with a DCT2524.

I can't change channels both from the command line and from mythtv.

When I orignially installed Knoppmyth, I did notice that the red LED on the blaster flashed a few times, so I know that it was detected. However I couldn't change channels using the IR blaster.

I added /etc/irblaster/change_channel.sh - can't change channels

I ran the irblaster.sh and selected the proper items:
1) COM 1
2) DCT2524

Still can't change channels.

I ran the following command from the command line:

root@HERBERT02:/etc/irblaster# ./channel_change.sh 10
changing to 10
./channel_change.sh: line 7: DCT2524: command not found
/usr/bin/irsend: not enough arguments
/usr/bin/irsend: not enough arguments
The IR blaster doesn't flash at all.

I also tired running the following command from the command line:

/usr/bin/irsend --device=/dev/irblasterd SEND_ONCE DCT2524 10
/usr/bin/irsend: command failed: SEND_ONCE DCT2524 10
/usr/bin/irsend: unknown command: "10"

The IR blaster doesn't flash at all.

Any ideas on how to get to get it running?

Thanks so much for your help!

Some improvement:

I removed the space on the channel_change.sh script.

I can now change channels from the command line when I type in the command:

root@HERBERT02:/etc/irblaster# ./channel_change.sh 56
changing to 56

However, when I put this in the mythtv-setup for the external channel change command:

channel_change.sh

The Channel still doesn't change.

Any ideas? Thanks so much!

Got it working... I had to put the whole path for the change channel command:

/etc/irblaster/channel_change.sh

Woohoo! Now I can record digital channels!
