Hello All!

I've got a Microsoft Media Center remote, it looks like this one

However it does not have the colored buttons at the bottom, it's actually the one at the top of this page:

No matter what I try I can't get it working, and it's driving me crazy. I couldn't get it working when I first tried, so I gave up because it didn't matter all that much, however now I'm really trying to get everything to work with my TV as supposed to my PC so i'll need the remote.

I downloaded the newest knoppmyth version, C7 I think, and gave it another try. However I'm getting the same response as before. No errors in dmesg, no connection refused when I run irw. All that happens is.. well.. nothing. It's very fustrating.

What i've done so far..
Using lirc_mceusb2, I tried mceusb, but it doesn't work, crashes lircd.
There's no difference in the configuration files between mceusb and mceusb, so i've put the lircrc in .mythtv/ and and my home directory. and made sure that lircd.conf in /etc/ and /etc/lirc/ are the same.

So now i have no clue what to do. Everything seems like it's working, except that nothing is. there are no errors when I start lircd, no errors when I modprobe lirc_mceusb2. Just nothing when I run irw, however if I run mode2 I get alot of feedback, I just don't know what it all means.

So does any one have any more suggestions? Or should I look for another remote...?

Ok Well for some reason the lircd.conf supplied did not work with my Microsoft Remote. I'm not sure if the remote I have is different from the other remotes, or if something else was screwed up, but I ended up having to make a new lircd.conf for my remote. I guess I was assuming that the the lircd.conf for the mceusb remotes would work with my remote, but it wasn't the case.

Also, my remote is neither of the remotes that I linked too in the my first post. It looks very close to the second link, but it does not have the two smaller buttons at the top, it just has one. So if any one has trobule with their Microsoft MCE remote, try using irrecond and making your own lircd.conf. Once i get my conf cleaned up a bit i'll post it here.
