Exactly what it says at the top, how capable is a Pentium 600MHZ Computer with 368 MB's of RAM and a WinTVR PVR 350 at running KnoppMyth. Thanks for any response -Brian |

Yes. However, the PVR 350 isn't a video card. If you expect to use it's TV out, don't expect it to scream with anything other than MPEG-2. |

I didn't know that, thanks a lot...I'm sure you saved me hours of frustration. I have an old S3 Virge GX/2 with a TV-out, but as far as I know the TV-out will not work in linux, even the S3 Savage's TV-out does. Anyone have any info on this? Thanks again, Brian |

Hi, Try it, if you already have the hardware it would have no cost factor except time and that can be added to the learning experience bank. I think you will like most of what you see. Tv out would be best way to go. Mike |

It will work great for recording and playing back NTSC or PAL analog TV shows. For a couple years I ran a 1GHz C3 (which is probably slower than a 600MHz P3), and it had absolutely no problem recording and replaying MPEG2 files. What probably won't work:

I don't actually have the hardware yet, I wanted to make sure it would work. I didn't think it would work nearly as well as it apparently does. Visualizations and HD Videos aren't high on my priorities. Thanks a lot for the help. -Brian |
