Hey, here is my problem. My PVR-500 works, except on channels 57-65 or something like that. unfortunately, comedy central is on channel 59 and i absolutely need my daily dose of the colbert report. has anyone heard of this problem? i updated my ivtv drivers to 0.4.6 but to no avail.

Typical causes include:

- Wrong frequency set selected. Check the frequency tables to see which sets are particularly far apart on that range of channels. You can try playing with the finetune settings in the channel editor to see if that helps temporarily.

- Wrong tuner type selected. Have you had to force your tuner type setting because the ivtv driver was failing to detect it correctly? Dig around and see what other types are associate with the model of tuner chips the driver lists. You're looking for a line that says something like this:
Code:
tveeprom 2-0050: tuner model is Philips FI1236 MK2 (idx 10, type 2)

or:
Code:
tveeprom 0-0050: tuner model is TCL M2523_5N_E (idx 112, type 4)

or:
....

The problem is most likely that you guessed slightly wrong on the tuner type then. Unlike the frequency set which you can usually get from your cable provider you're going to have to do some research on the IVTV mailing list archives. Get the tuner chip model number and use that as a search term there.
